Skill building helps in teaching new skills to children with autism, such as communication,
social interaction, and daily living skills. By breaking down these skills into smaller steps and
providing positive reinforcement, Skill Building can effectively help children learn and generalize
these skills in various settings. Children with autism often struggle with social skills and forming
relationships can target social deficits by teaching children how to initiate and maintain conversations,
interpret non-verbal cues, and make friends,
leading to improved social interactions and relationships.
